Lithuania is located on the eastern Baltic coast in Northern Europe with a population of 3.6 million people. The country has a landscape of hills, forests and a dense network of lakes and rivers. The capital, Vilnius, is a small city that is said to be enchanting with its blossoming art communities and old-world charm. In regards to Medical Tourism, Lithuania has no shortage of clinics and there are private practitioners, often trained in Western Europe or the USA, whose sole activity is performing surgery on clients from western nations. Lithuanian is the official language spoken, although there are a large number of dialects, particularly for such a small country.

Tourists from most countries can enter Lithuania for up to 90 days without a visa.

Getting there

There are two international airports for entry to Lithuania: Kaunas International Airport and Vilnius International Airport. Kaunas is located approximately one hour away from the capital of Vilnius, and is where many of the European budget airlines land. Most international traffic to Lithuania still lands at Vilnius International Airport. A number of the European budget airlines fly to/from Lithuania, such as Wizzair and Ryanair. Other airlines include Lithuanian Airlines and Air Baltic. Those travelling from outside of Europe will have to catch a connecting flight to Lithuania from one of the many more central European hubs such as London, Paris or Vienna.
