South Korea is located in Northeast Asia and has a population of 49 million people. South Korea is known for its friendly people and beautiful countryside. Its cities are bustling metropolises accentuated by the beach and mountain landscapes away from the city. The official language of South Korea is Korean, although English is widely taught in schools.

Best time to travel

South Korea has four distinct seasons with the hottest part of the year being between July and August. However, this is also the wettest time of year. Spring and fall/autumn are generally considered the best time to travel.

Visas are not required by nationals of Australia, the UK and general EU for stays of up to 90 days, with the exception of tourists from the USA who can stay for up to 30 days, those from Italy and Portugal who can stay for up to 60 days, and Canadians who can stay for up to six months.
